In Greek mythology, Hesperus, the evening star, and Phosphorus, the morning star, are both the personifications of the same planet Venus. Philosopher Gottlob Frege uses the phrase ‘Hesperus is Phosphorus’ to distinguish his idea of senses and reference. What senses does the name possess? How do perceptions affect our encounter with the subject? These two video projections explore the multiplicity of identities through the lenses of perspective, time, and medium.
